Week 14 - The End of the Road

We made it to week 14! This semester has been a journey of self-discovery, goal setting, and milestones met. I have learned more about myself, my abilities, my weaknesses and my potential. And, most surprising, I was able to keep a consistent journal for an entire semester - one of the goals that I was least confident in being able to achieve. I would call this past semester a personal success!

In essence, my entrepreneurial journey started here, but ahead of me lies an infinite path of personal improvement, service and achievement. This semester I have gained skills and tools that will help me as I navigate towards my goals (old and new). Through the process of self-reflection that often seemed unrelated to my limited understanding of business ownership I have discovered that without a clear personal understanding of who I am, what I can become, and what my unique talents can help me achieve I will be hard-pressed to find the professional success I desire. The basic truth of it all is that our personal and professional moral ground runs hand-in-hand. When we have those two in line with one another in the pursuit of righteousness, our potential is limitless.

The most important piece of advice that I could share with someone at the beginning their own entrepreneurial journey is to develop a relationship of trust with yourself. Gain a true understanding of who you are so that you can move forward with confidence in yourself and your incredible abilities. Include God in the process - His faith in us will carry us through the times we struggle, He will sustain us in our righteous desires and will inspire us in areas we might not have considered possible. When we understand our true, eternal potential we come to realize that the journey here on earth (professionally, personally, emotionally, etc.) is made possible by the essence of who we really are. Our strengths lie within, we just need to be willing to do the work to bring them to light.

I truly believe that when we gain a true understanding of where we come from, who we are what we are capable of achieving, the rest will naturally fall into place. Of course, we will stumble and struggle, that is an important part of the journey. When we have to work through challenges, we learn more about our true self, begin to trust the strengths of others, and gain confidence in what we are capable of. As we pursue goals that are inspired by Christ-like attributes and we continually move forward, we will find a growing strength within and discover a meaningful desire to help others do the same. While I am grateful for the lessons learned about business development this semester, I am more thankful for the personal growth that I have experienced as a result of my enrollment in this course. I am excited to find out what's to come!
